While working with the human form I use the suggestions of accident to catapult me beyond the tidy domain of my own intentions and preconceptions. I draw and paint to explore that which I don't know rather than to illustrate that which I do know.

This body of work was influenced by a small collection of life masks and the accidental discovery of two books containing black and white photographs of 15th to 19th century death masks.
